What do 4,000 miles a week look like

Let's test it with the numbers. Pretrial and post trip at the lowest allowed time of 7.5 minutes and a 10 hour drive daily. We will set fueling at 4 times a week so that would be an hour.

The average speed when cruise is set at 65mph usually comes out to 60 mph so let's see what we get.

Every drive shift totals 600 miles and 10.25 hours so.

10.25 x 6 = 61.5 hours so add the hour for fuel now ya got 62.5 hours which leaves 7.5 hours in your 70 for the week. So figure you get another 6 hours of driving in and this is what your miles would look like.

60 x 10 = 600

600 x 6 = 3200

60 x 6 = 320

Total miles = 3520 for the week

 

Don't get paid on miles per week. Get paid a percentage of the load, or line haul. You will make more money. 4000 miles a week is beyond legal. Make good money and stay legal.

 

4k can be done on elogs if everything aligns but I'm not doing it, ever.

I hit a 3600 mile week in the past two years pulling a reefer. My record is a little north of 3800 with a dedicated dry van. Since I went skateboard I'm averaging under 2k miles with much better money.

Long mile weeks are for you youngsters who are just starting out. I figure I got about 20 years left on the sunny side of dirt. No desire to waste them all staring out my windshield.

You freight haulers are hilarious. I ran 4032 miles in 6 days on E-logs in a 65mph truck back when I was a freight hauler. Only happen once in a year and a half though.

 

4000 miles a week looks like any other week, lines on a log book page. Its just work which puts money in the bank. Gotta get it while it's there to be got
