Any suggestions for securement? This was a week ago. The shipper didn't want the bundles tight because the receiver was going to use an overhead crane with chains to unload. I tried dunnage for down pressure, didn't really work. I used 8 chains, then tarped, then 3 straps.
I would've preferred them tight together and at least one choke chain. -

Like what was said above. Boards between the rows. If they refused that then I would refuse the load as it is not secure with the space between because they can shift inwards causing your securement to loosen. Also an overhead crane with chains can shift them over without the gap. I've seen it done several times. Your shipper was an idiot.

What about my postings makes you think I'm an idiot like the video you posted? We don't touch the trailer when we side load.
We don't side load to save the 5 minutes of unhooking we side load because we don't have room.
Our trailers are in better shape than random xyz company. -
