How's everyone doing? First off I'm not really a new driver I have 26 months oilfield driving experience as a tanker yanker non hazmat I'm currently looking into going otr. The oilfield is dead I almost got out of it a couple months ago but took a gamble hoping the money would be back but now I realize I've stayed in it to long. So my question is do y'all think otr companies will try and consider me a new driver since I don't have over the road experience? I mean not to sound ####y but I don't need to do a refresher course or a month long orientation I'm very competent behind the wheel of a truck and I'm just ready to go to work and start racking up the miles I know there's better companies but schneider has caught my eye I'm going to give them a call and see about getting on a regional run any thoughts on schneider? And what do y'all think about my 26 months oilfield experience do y'all think they will accept that since its not otr or do y'all think companies are going to try and say I'm new since I have never been otr? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance

    @JRTrax

Try JBS Carriers; they hire lots of former oil field workers.
    Where is your location.
@skeeterbilt cfh - how old are you? Many companies have minimum age requirements.

Is Mertzon where you will stay after leaving the oil fields?
    What is your age?

No matter what, you will be with a trainer for some period of time. Oil field work is nothing like OTR.
You have no experience with the shippers/receivers, trip planning or many other things that apply to this job.
It can not be just hopped in to without some kind of training.

Sorry, but you WILL be new to this.

    MrEd Thanks this.

Maybe if he chooses a Mega he will be with a trainer, but certainly not all companies.

23 yrs. old; that's good for almost every company in the USA.
You're in the middle of nowhere....lol.

Try Abilene Motor Express; they hire from almost everywhere. You're close enough to I-10 they might consider you. Excellent company and the wife can ride along.

    Check Western Dairy Transport also.

I'll see what else I can come up with.

Pride Transport - flatbed & reefers.

There's a guy in "nowhere, TX" that drives for Prime Inc. tanker division. Does lots of California runs hauling wine and maybe milk.

Freymiller and Magnum Ltd. are both good reefer outfits.
    Melton Truck Lines

Do the online applications then follow with a phone call tomorrow and say, "I'm checking on my job application."
