I would like to know if truckers would mind if I went to a truckstop and approached them to ask questions about their company and opinions on the industry?

Brickman Thanks this. -
Do you think you'll get better opinions than on this site? I've talked to a couple of drivers and they were helpful and very nice, but I got similar information here.

This site has very good info just ask what you want to know people on here will answer you

go to the cafe in the truckstops and ask if you can buy them a meal or a drink if they are done eating.
Most will be happy to answer your questions I have heard that some people on here has done it.panhandlepat and Iwanttobeatrucker Thank this. -
I went a step further, and got a job at a truck stop at the fuel desk for truckers. Some are just in a hurry, some will offer up as much information as you have questions (granted there are no other drivers in line needing help) and be more than eager to talk to you. Best thing you can do is go into the diner, sit at the counter, and just wait for a driver to sit down next to you.
I have found information on this site, you have to take with a grain of salt. You will hear good and bad, but some drivers will say nothing but 'bad' just because they got canned after 2 months. Most of the information here is good.ITSec Thanks this. -
I think you will have better luck in an informal setting such as this. Many drivers have a tendency to be loners and sit by themselves. They have alot on their mind and usually do not want to be bothered.
On the other hand some drivers that sit at the bar are in a way looking for some conversation. I have noticed in my travels that the drivers sitting at the bar tend to be more open than the fellas that sit way off in a corner with no one else around.
Of course I am one of the guys that sits alone and normally does not say anything to anyone. Lets just say that my social skills are lacking from spending so much time alone. Truth be told I actually spend most of my time eating in the truck so I will not have to interact with others in person. I do not "fit" in with the fellas. I do not talk loud, or laugh loud, or hit on the waitresses, or whack guys on the back, or talk about sports. I am extremely introverted and uncomfortable in public places or situations.
Based on my observations of others I am not alone in the "loner" department.
This forum is a great resource to guys like me that have a wealth of information but prefer people at arms length.Kaonix Thanks this. -
Just sit at the bar and and ask a driver if he could answere some questiones for you. Most of us would be more then happy to sit down and have a cup of coffee with you and chat.

Thanks for the recommendations. I think that I will try and get back by there this weekend, sit at the counter and see if I can strike up a conversation.
