I don't know about how their lease purchase program is, but I know how it is like working for Celadon as a company driver. I worked for Celadon for about 8 weeks and they are a bad company to work for. I have over 6 years experience as a truck driver. When I arrived at orientation, I was told I would be paid $16/hr as a local driver and I would have my weekends off. I was never paid $16/ hr, I was paid $15/hr and I had to work weekends. I also had a problem with Celadon not paying for the correct number of hours I worked. I didn't receive my final paycheck or back pay from Celadon when I quick working for them, even though I gave them a 2 week notice that I was quitting , turned in their truck and other additional items they asked for back. I am currently filing a complaint against them with the California Dept. Of labor. I was not the only driver that was paid incorrectly or not paid their final paycheck. My advice to any drivers that are offered employment with Celadon is to turn down their job offer. This companies does not pay their driver correct and they lie to them about what their job will pay and the pay rate. I currently work at a different company that pays very well and I go home every night.
Thinking Celadon as next company company driver or lease pros and cons of both

I'm on a team truck, but I think you can get an Ez-pass as a solo.. but you'll have to pay a fairly large deposit (about $100) and you must use their "recommended" fuel routings that will send you many miles out of the way in order to avoid toll cost. If you don't have the tolls pre-authorized and use the toll road, they WILL deduct the toll cost from your pay. I know this for a fact.. they let me go on an emergency home-time visit to my sister in Rochester, NY. (She was dying and has since passed away) and sent me a message saying "tolls are not authorized for home-time travel." So, I was billed for all the tolls from Fort Wayne, IN. to Rochester. which included all of the Ohio Turnpike and the N.Y. State Thruway from the Pa state line to Rochester. On the positive side, they let me deadhead from Ft. Wayne because a load to get me home wasn't ready and the shipper was closed.. So it was worth what I had to pay out of pocket for the tolls.
