Absolutely, very informative, top notch instructors, they really are getting you ready for the job at hand . I started a week later , so right now tomorrow starts week 2 but I must say I'm glad I made this choice. Roehl and millis transfer were on my short list. Day 2 you are in the truck, been out of this industry for many years , and team roehl is making the transition back just great

How did you find your accommodations during training? Did you find yourself spending alot of money out of pocket while there? I am just trying to pre-plan for what I need while I am away. I leave for Gary on Memorial day.

I just went to Roehl, and all you really need is money to eat on the first day you get there. The hotel has Continental breakfast, and they feed you lunch and dinner. You will want to take some money for laundry services and if you wanted to get you a case of drinks for your hotel room.
If you are taking the rental car option, you are going to need money for the gas and the tolls getting there (they will reimburse you though). You need money for your trip home, but they will advance you money to get home if you need it.

I leave tomorrow via the greyhound . They couldn't tell me though who I was rooming with. I am excited and terrified to start this. Does pay happen weekly buy start in the third week? Is there just a two week delay?
    Thanks again!

Third week, they pay and then it becomes weekly. Good Luck on your journey! I wasn't able to complete the training, but they are giving me the option to return when I feel like I can best complete it. The first day, you will have a pre-work physical done where you will have to do some physical stuff.. and the first couple days is cram packed with learning. After the first week, it slows down a bit and you will get more comfortable. The food at the bus terminals is kind of expensive, so be prepared to spend $2.50 on a bottle of coke at them. Also, if you smoke or chew tobacco, you may want to take a stock with you because tobacco is really expensive in that area.

I'm not one for the tobacco so I can save a few bucks there, might splurge on that coke lol. I have already passed my drug screens and hold a current DOT card from my previous employer. I think it just leaves the company requirement physical tests. I hope I can manage , I'm a bit pudgy from my last driving job. If I don't make it idk what I will do, my past employer might not take me back.

The company physical is what got me.. I am pretty big around the middle and wasn't expecting to have to do it. It's pretty easy, except the part where I had to step up on the platform and then step up on the next level and lunge forward.. I think it's three point contact with lunging.. like getting on a flatbed. If you are able to get into the back of a dryvan or on top of a flatbed, you shouldn't have any issues. I wish you luck and keep me informed on your progress!

Thx, will definitely keep in touch. Omw now to the bus station. I found a bunch of videos from roehl on YouTube explaining the breakdown of what they want. Though I have not done a lunge for 10 yrs lol, I used to do em for X country. It just sucks that all of my recent jobs have given me a gut. I wanna be fit again.
