So I had issues earlier in the week getting the truck started, turned out to be a wiring issue (Pete 387 with cat c15)

During that process we had issues getting the cat primed and running smoothly, eventual we got it. I noticed a radiator leak so yesterday I shut the truck didn't and pulled the radiator, got that all buttoned up.i have a spin on fuel water separator filter and don't like it so I found a good shape used Davco separator, so after the radiator I pulled the spin off set up off as tried putting the Davco on. Long story short it wouldn't fit comfortably, so I put the spin on set up back on. Now I can't get the #### thing running right.

Filled the filter full and spun it on, hit the primer pump and turned the key, it ran rough for a few minuets then died. Filled the primary filter again and died again. Third time it cranked over and I snapped a belt, so I'm done for the day, morning I'm picking up a tensioner and idler pulley as they're both grinding, and a new belt. Just curious what the fastest way to prime this bs system is.

    Thanks in advance

Got your fuel lines hooked up properly? Some of those filter housings have check valves in them.

Only two lines, one into the filter housing, one out, yea there correct.

I didn't know if there was a bleeder screw I could loosen, use the hand pump to pump everything full, then close it back up.

The bleed screw should be a hex head to the left of the primer. It's 11/-16 or something like that. If you have access to shop air you can crack the bleeder then pressurize one tank. You only need 20psi or so. Have someone watch from a safe distance fuel will spray out

    TruckNorris Thanks this.

Exactly the response I was looking for. That's 100% doable with the shop air. As soon as it comes out, just close the bleeder back up and fire it up? Thank you

You may or may not have to close the valves to the non pressurized tank.
Easy way to pressure tank is take a piece of cardboard poke a hole for blow nozzle, doesn't have to be a perfect seal. You need to plug the vent on the tank you pressurize

I could just put a small nozzle on the airline, and poke it into the vent tube and apply a small amount of pressure that way. I think that would work also.

As long as the caps aren't vented

Just thinking you may have a check ball in the brass vent itself
