It's a pretty decent gig. Fantastic equipment, decent maintenance, No hassle running.
You could make a bit more if you like tarping, but not much more unless you run into a specialty-load company with a lot of freight. Dickinson, you'll have no issues getting home at all. Every 10 days, for s long as you want (within reason). I complain a lot, but I don't see a lot better out there, and I see 100's MUCH worse. Like the little girl with the curls: When it's good, it's very very good, and when it's bad it's horrid. It's more good than bad though, substantially.gdyupgal Thanks this. -
I'm going to call magnum tomorrow...I know a lot of companies are going Auto PLEASE PLEASE tell me standards are available!!!! -
We have standards, but EVERYONE is going auto except logging and heavy-haul. Jut get used to it, this is the future. And from what I hear, it's not a bad deal. But what do I know, I've grinded them from 8-15 gears. If the autos wouldn't work on the hills, no one would be using them. Which tells me they're probably more efficient than manuals. Sure as hell, hauling 45k at 79,800 like I was last week, an auto probably would have been easier through Chicago.

we got new auto Petes at my company & I drove one for one day & lord I was exhausted...my muscle memory is with shifting & even my personal pickups are standard I have a 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton & 1 ton but I do realize it's all changing * sniff sniff * but I'm a team player & get the job done kinda gal so I"ll just go with the flow...I have to admit though I do feel new drivers should be trained on standards as well it opens up so many more doors -
Just drop your trailer and park, the bigger problem is people parking along the curb with trailers and blocking the fuel islands. Even if bobtails parked along the curb we'd be able to get in. Hell if all else fails go to Rogers and use the TA, there's a heck of a lot more to do on a 34 there anyway.

Wow drive a AMT and find its easier than the manual 10, though either is fine...the manual is more fun, but I love the AMT in traffic.gdyupgal Thanks this.

Most euro trucks even heavy haul are AMT and vocational trucks are true auto's. For sure manuals are going to stay around for the 140k+ market, but I agree for most applications the AMT's are more consistent, not necessarily better, just more consistent.gdyupgal Thanks this.

On another unneeded 34. Got my daughter with me. We went to mall of America today. Monday went to celebration station in Greensboro. I can't really expect a 11 yo to sit in a truck stop all this time. They need to get me moving all This sitting is starting to cost a lot. Disney store go karts and rides.
4mer trucker, gdyupgal and tucker Thank this. -
Yeah it was a compliment - though the next time you are ill (hopefully not in the near future) stating that you were violently ill is good enough, further descriptions are not required
.
carramrod32 and Jubal3 Thank this.
