Boss said to wash the truck real good when I get back to the shop so there is no sign of mud lol.

I'm back in my rollback today though and new guy is in busdy'so truck. I don't mind, I like having an easy Saturday.

Maybe he's on elogs. Rush through everything and no time for an extra walk around to pick up stupid mistakes!

Did the load look secure at least? It's hard to tell by the picture. Looks like a steel plate and no chains.

No chains.. not even a blocker on the front. Straps only. He did have edge protectors lol. I guess the straps are more important than his own life.

I do like the oversize load sign over the tail lights.

Nothing on the front (like chains X'd) was exactly my thinking. Then add the fact that he doesn't even have a headache rack, it just looks plain bad!

Makes a person feel real safe knowing we are out here among "professionals."

I wish I had my dash cam on but I saw an amazing load yesterday. A monster I beam. I've never seen one so thick. I started thinking about the driver killed by his load thread so I paid attention to the securement. There was literally a strap or chain (mostly chains) every 4 feet and the beam was the length of the trailer. And there was a chain around the front. They guys chain rack was empty. I took a look at the driver expecting to see one of yall and it was a sikh. I was very impressed.

I've never hauled an I-beam, but I guarantee ya, my headache rack would be empty also. I've hauled plenty of oilfield pipe. They won't let you chain it. Straps only. I hate it.

On the smaller oilfield pipe I always did 2 belly wraps and made sure it was sinched tight.

On the coated pipe I would pull away from the shipper and hook chain hooks on the front of the uncoated bevelled part of the pipe as catch chains. Then unhook them before deliver so they didnt see it. No damage to the pipe.. and left me safe from having the pipe kill me if I had to stop hard.

I dont care what they want.. self preservation is #1 priority.

Thats what caught my eye and what I wanted to convey the problem to the driver.

You would think a little common sense would prevent a guy from covering his tail lights. But seeing is believing. Common sense is not so common.
