For awhile that is...5speed Thanks this. -
5 speed, I pmed you. My miles at Cargo have been mediocre or poor the last few weeks too. but I think its starting to rebound. 2500 plus last week and the same this week and getting home every week for a reset to 48 hours. If I can stay at the 2500 mark or better, I can be content with that. The wife likes seeing me weekly but admit I miss going west of the Mississippi. Tradeoffs. Best wishes Abilenees!!
5speed and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -

The miles are there alright, the tricky part is getting them assigned to in a timely fashion. Ive done multiple qc messages and phone calls but there always seems to be a few hours dead time between putting in unloaded macro and getting a new load.
Those dead hours often wind up stretching a 1 day run into 2 which ultimately kills productivity.
Im hopeful that it is intentional because I'm still a newb and they want to take it easy on me.Finfn1372 Thanks this. -
What I do, right or wrong, is send in a QC message prior to hitting the drop, or after arrival I f it will be a longer drop on site, saying something like;
"Feel free to go ahead and drop my next load info to me so that I can start preplanning my next trip, and prepping to roll out as soon as possible."
I try to "invite them" to do something vs "telling them" to do it... Hoping it accomplishes two things... Expressing that I would appreciate, if possible, being PrePlanned and/or like being proactive and ready to tackle the next load while I am on a roll.
Then after I complete the "end or empty", if I have not received my next load info, I send a QC msg saying something like;
"Ok boss man/lady, where are we off to now?"
Again, it's just a question not demanding and expressing they are "in charge"... Ok, stroke their ego a bit...
Then after waiting a bit, say maybe an hour, then I call in asking for a load. Again, respectfully and professional.
Then, if I do get info as requesting, just thank them now and then for getting me preplaned and how I appreciate it as it allows me to be as efficient as possible.
If nothing else, if they know my questions are coming, they may occasionally do it instead of being bugged a few times...
So far, I have not had to rant or rave...... Yet.

But, it totally zaps my energy to stop and wait and yes, at times, causes the load to be devided up over two days due to bumping up against an HOS issue.
But it happens... So take a nice relaxing break and hope it doesn't Eff up your day. -
Try my approach. I call it fact finding. Case in point, this past Tuesday, 12 of us empty in of all places, Great Falls MT. At the end of the day on Tuesday, I sent in a QC message that read, word for word, "we all left Richmond last Friday and Saturday, this didn't come as a surprise that we all showed up here empty today?" Within an hour 8 of us had 1225 mile deadhead moves to Colton.
A simple question seemed to work.KD5AXG, heckclan, 4mer trucker and 1 other person Thank this.
