Yeah, a lot of those supplements are in powder form, so it tends to constipate you if you don't drink enough water or have enough fiber. One thing I'd like to mention is supplements are NOT FDA regulated, because it's not considered food. A lot of the protein supplements have been found to contain HIGH levels of arsenic, just like apple juice and rice grown in the states. So I would suggest do your research when buying supplements. Consumer Reports is great for finding out which supplements are safe.
Do you guys in food service workout outside work

I went the low carb life style many years ago. I dropped from 295 to 218. Never did get it below 218. Then two things happened. I went OTR, and I fell completely off that lifestyle. It seemed that my body just craved carbs. And of course I love high carb foods. Pasta potatoes bread of any and all kinds graveyard ice cream the whole thing.
Got up to 330 before heart surgery. I have been able to get down and hold around 285-295. But I'm having a hell of a lot of stress in my life right now, and eating has always been a problem when stressed. I can't see going back on Adkins again. But I know I'd best do something. -
You know what they say, strength and power doesn't go away when you get older. Geroge Forman and Dan Henderson are proof of that. Have you tried walking everyday and doing some weightlifting? You don't have to go all Arnold and what not, just something mildly resistant to strengthen you muscles and bones.Big Don Thanks this. -

What works for me is a full blitz cheat day every 2-3 weeks. I want to do it once a week though. I'll eat those carbed heavy foods on the cheat day and it will make me feel like dog crap. Not cause of mentally but it really makes my energy and mood feel crappy. Then I want to go back to eating no carbs. I've heard it spikes the insulin bad when you've gone low carb for awhile is probably what I'm feeling. Then after that i generally get a boost in my weight loss after that. Plus a little mental boost too cause I don't feel like I'm missing those foods in my life. Plus it's what you do consistently. If you have a cheat day once a week it's in reality 4 days in a month which means consistently for 26-27 days your on point. Over a year it adds up. -
You know what they say...you can't beat mother nature or father time. Just a fact of life. Everybody gets older and everybody's metabolism slows down over time.
Genetics has a lot to do with how your body handles food. Some people can eat whatever they want and not gain an ounce, while others LOOK at a donut and automatically gain 5 pounds. That BMI index that they have nowadays is total BS. Look at a guy like Brock Lesner, who's 6 foot 3 inch tall and weighs over 300 pounds of pure muscle (which by the way I can't wait to see him back in the octogon again). Now I'm not sure what a BMI is suppose to be for someone 6 foot 3, but I'm sure as hell know it ain't over 300 pounds, so technically Brock Lesner is morbidly obese according to BMI standards, even though he's just genetically a freak athlete. Same goes with that sleep apnea BS that they have now with neck measurement.
The bottom line is you gotta eat right and be physically active if you want to be healthy, and like @Radman mentioned, reward yourself once in a while with a cheat day, because nobody wants to live without pasta or pizza FOREVER.Big Don, Rocks, JPenn and 1 other person Thank this. -
I just started with a beer distributor and that job is a gdamn workout especially pushing carts loaded with beers through some busted up parking lots

I've also been vegetarian for 35 straight years now and don't eat junk food, no white sugar, and almost no industrialized food... Would have to bring cooked food from home to work... and would need to spend time (at home) cooking.. and shopping for food... cause I don't have any one to do those things for me...Last edited: Jun 12, 2016
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I see this food service job is not for me...
I am a lady, almost 100 lbs... Did A LOT of hard physical labor when I was in my 20's... had an art craft business and booths in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, my country of origin... and used to carry the disassembled booths (pipes of iron) on my shoulder + bags of merchandise...and take buses to the places where I used to sell my stuff... Always traveled around (in Brasil), by plane and bus with heavy HEAVY bags...
Always worked hard... had a cleaning business in America but always did the service myself... Cleaning residences all day and working out at the gym for 2 to 4 hrs every other evening...
I weighted some more and was in great shape for some years...But abused my body too much... Now gotta take it easy... Can't do heavy lifting any more... Although I still do sometimes... Specially when I travel overseas and have to carry luggage around...
