No worries about the dual daddies, just having fun that there is now a couple of us... lol ... I doubt there will be any confusion... LOL

We do have a yard in West Memphis so if you are based out of there, I assume you would be, then getting through town might be more of a possibility but need to talk to a recruiter for that. Our two main lanes are I95 & I40.

The company policy on dogs is less than 25#, or 35#, not sure... Something to talk to the recruiter about and if they tell you it's ok, get that in writing ahead of time... It will be a few months after going solo before you can bring a pet along so "memories fade" over time.

We have bunk heaters in the trucks, if needed, and the trucks don't idle between 35-65 degrees... I have yet to be uncomfortable.

As to home time, the company gives 1 day of home time for every 6 OTR... But being in Memphis, one could assume a bit more unofficial drive bys the house.

Talk to a recruiter for a "Regional" job.

As to my favorite pastime, solitude.

I40 is our main route to points west. We have a sort of a terminal in west memphis AR just west of the bridge. It seems very likely that they could get you loads going through there for your hometime.

1 day for every week worked is the policy so a weekend every couple weeks would be a reasonable request. Some get longer days off but that is dependent on their manager. We run all over the country though so every weekend doesnt look good.

No clue about the pet requirements. I never seen anything bigger than pitbull terrier sized here though. I doubt they actually weigh them but ask.

The trucks are set up to switch off if temp drops below 65. If you like it colder than that (as do I) then you are out of luck.

I just listen to music while driving. I gave held out on getting a sirrius radio but that may soon change as i am starting to get tired of music i have on my ipod and internet music apps only work when you have a good 4g signal. I tried an audio book once but only lasted 15 mins as I found i couldn't remember what happened 5 mins previously. Other than music i daydream, shout at cars doing stupid stuff and count roadkill. There is the occasional eye candy out the left window but never seems to be any when stationary in traffic.

Ok boys and girls, I need some help.

I was under the impression that new drivers start at 36 CPM ... then after 6 months we go to 37 CPM ... Then after a year we go to 38 CPM.

Well, now, after I have been here for 9 months, 3 training and 6 solo, I am being informed that is incorrect. That its 37 after a YEAR!!!

What have you other guys been told?

Seems we must get EVERYTHING in writing.

    Not A Happy Driver Today.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

I was told 22 during training. Then 33 after training. Then 36 after a year. My information is old though.

We were under the same impression as you MD. Carl received an email with that exact info when he started.

Someone needs to get clarification about pay. I am not aware of what the starting pay is, I just know that the last part of the pay/benefits where it says "raises are reviewed annually" puts me in a much different pay scale.
