Just curious about the difference?

My trainer stayed in the jump seat for like 45 minutes, and went to sleep. Drove like 550 miles first shift, down 80 to the J at North Platte. Dude woke up as I was slowing to get off and gave me direction on how to pull into fuel island.
    I said, " how'd I do?"
He says, " When I go in that sleeper, and pull that curtain, you have a future as a truck driver."
I said, "You mean you have people you have to stay awake with?"
    He roared out in laughter.
He says, " There's times when I don't sleep for 3, even 4 days, just had a guy like that. So I went solo for a week to take a break."
Found out later when I started training he wasn't kidding about that.
We did like 5K week. And I was happy to do it, cause on the days we weren't moving, hanging out at a J or a pilot, in the top bunk wasn't really that much fun, so I'm glad we ran like a team, cause time went by.
Depends on the strength of student.
I had some that were terrible, but I had to get the load delivered = not hardly any sleep sometimes.

My lord I didn't expect to ruffle this many feathers with my OPINION. I'm not surprised. I really couldn't care less as to what strangers think of me (it's a great trait) but I will say this. While you might have gotten the impression I'm some "super trucker wannabe" you couldn't be further from the truth. I'm actually one of the more humble guys you'll meet, and if I step into a trainers truck you can expect I'll be respectful and do as I told and or asked to do. Apparently I have a way with words that emits some type of hostile doucebaggy vibe. Well I don't know what to tell you. I can say this, I KNOW why there are certain amounts of time you have to be with a trainer, I just think it needs to be more suited towards to individual trainee. Because if a cookie cutter time line worked, there wouldn't be so many idiots on the road but that opens up a whole list of whats wrong with the situation as a whole. I was merely trying to open up a dialogue and discuss different ways to make the training system BETTER and either longer for those that need it, or shorter for those that don't. Have a splendid day.

    Oh yea,

You're so COOL pattyj. Take that however you want.

Doesn't* is the word I think you were looking for, and while I don't think I'm the best, I think I'll be alright. a "natural bad ###" as you "might call it". Have a great day.

It's not your opinion that's ruffled feathers, it's your attitude.
No one here has a problem answering questions or comments from you, even if you joke a little once in a while.
But until you learn to recognize what it is about your comments that could be deemed ####y or arrogant, I think you're going to find that you'll continue to get critical responses.

I'm not getting into this pi$$ing contest, just reading the thread. I also wanted to point out to the original poster that punctuation always goes within the quotes, as you "might call it." Additionally, sentences begin with capital letters.

Why didn't you call out @Giuseppe Ventolucci for spelling advice incorrectly, as well?

Good luck on your endeavors, Dave. I trained in the early days, before the aforementioned situations were even remote issues. I guess I was lucky to have missed this mayhem.

    Be safe, drivers.

PS: @JReding summed it up rather nicely.

My "attitude".... My god has America really become this soft? What happened to having different opinions and having logical conversation? Keep in mind things can be taken out of context when a conversation is in "text form" only. I read post after post on here any there's always one or two in every thread that come off as "rude" or as if the person has an "attitude" but you know what ? I don't feel the inner need to waste my time commenting directly on "the way someone said something" becasue I felt offended, (becasue frankly I don't get offended over internet forum posts). If I have something useful to add, I add to it. If I don't then I keep it moving. If a few of you REALLY think I have THAT bad of an attitude becasue you're taking things I say in a certain way on a internet forum, then I have to really wonder how you make it out there on the road. Because I'm a pretty laid back, humble, logical guy. "no attitude intended" There is that better?

I'm content with the sarcasm I pointed out and "by the way" your punctuation rule regarding quotations does not apply in every country if we are going to be that SPECIFIC. Thanks hero, you saved the day.

^^ Thanks Dave, I try. Please don't criticize others for their punctuational and grammatical errors, as you continue to make them yourself. That's what got me. You are your own worst enemy at times, it seems.
Again, have a good day as well.
