I had the same rental recently and HATED that dial. Why reinvent the wheel? That Chrysler engineer should be fired!

I'm considering that for my next car. For the same reason.

Lol I've seen those. I don't like them at all. That's not driving anymore. Feels like you're adjusting the heater or something like that

I liked that car though. Had the hemi. Was doing about 70 and punched it, went to 100 right now. I really liked the car over all. Had the one that cuts off half the cylinders when your cruising, it got like 28 to the gallon. I was really impressed. My F350 gets 10. The Jag get about 7 lol.

I didn't have the Hemi. Mine had the responsiveness of a minivan.

Floating gears in a car is called power shifting, at least for upshifts.
Full throttle until red line, then off the gas and back on - shifting as you get off the gas.
The shift should not take longer than half a second or so.

I got started on manuals completely by accident or fate. When I was 18 I bought my first car. I got the address's mixed up for a '69 Dodge Charger and '68 GTO. I wanted the Charger, but went and looked at, and drove the goat first. Drove it home, 4 speed, manuals in all almost every car since. The Jag has a turbo 400.
