We use the PeopleNet system. It's supposed to switch automatically when you cross over but you can go in and change it manually as well. It recognizes all the rules just fine.

I was put on them because I was actually supposed to be on them for the first year because I was a new driver. Well, the system wasn't working in the first truck I went solo in so I ran paper. Then, after that I managed to stay on paper when I got into a new truck. My boss knows what goes on and was the reason I got away with paper for so long, but finally HIS boss came down on him hard and it finally happened, although now it's been over a year.

Rules were first year on elogs then they let drivers choose after that. Now it's all new drivers on elogs permanently because as we know, it is planned to become law soon enough.

What makes it worse (in my mind) is that I've been here over a year now and they've forced me on them. I was seriously considering the idea of quitting and moving onto better things (more specialized trucking–build my skill set). Now, I'm waiting to see how it really affects my pay first. I didn't want to leave, I'd still rather not. The bottom line is I need to not be just 'surviving' out here, that would be pointless in my mind. I need to be making as much money as I can to invest in myself and grow further.

It is what it is, just another punch to roll with!

Dragging this home from Indiana. I was told this one is to stay at my place. It will make it easier if I have time to haul grain. IMG_20160616_163827805.jpg
