I have teeth issues that i can't afford to take care of right now. If i had an infection from a tooth problem would that make me fail a physical? Maybe something shows up in my urine indicating and infection or something? I don't know what they look for in urine besides drugs i heard sugar levels but i don't know what else.

Sounds like a silly question but really i don't have $1,500 right now to get them fixed. Every once in awhile i'll feel somewhat sick but i'm better in a few days i have a strong imune system. I plan on staying out on the road for about 2 months at a time when i start so i can have longer home time to get my teeth fixed after i make the money.

You shouldn't have any problem passing a physical as long as there's no prescription pain pills in your system.
Try Clove Oil on your teeth until you can afford a dentist. Google will show the best way to use it. Can buy it at Walgreens or any major drug store chain.

Clove is applied directly to the gums (used topically) for toothache, for pain control during dental work, and for a complication of tooth extraction called “dry socket.” It is also applied to the skin as a counterirritant for pain and for mouth and throat inflammation. In combination with other ingredients, clove is also applied to the skin as part of a multi-ingredient product used to keep men from reaching orgasm too early (premature ejaculation).

Thanks i'll look into that. I only take ibuprofen it pretty much takes all the pain away but i always feel "doped up" groggy and that won't be good driving obviously. So i will look into the clove stuff.

Maybe use the clove oil then take an ibuprofen at bedtime.

Yeah unfortunately when the pain hits it's totally random and it's bad like i was hit in the face with a baseball bat. Good thing is i only usually need about 600mg to make the pain go away. Thank god for ibuprofen is all i got to say lol

I have a few bottles of 500mg perscription Ibuprofen. They're several years old, but come in handy every now and then.
Don't mention the teeth or Ibuprofen to the DOT doctor. That's a "don't ask/don't tell" situation.

What state are you from? Here in Chicago area they have next to free Dental clinics that are run by the county.

The last thing you want is to be on the road and get a tooth abscess...

When someone asks a question in these forums why is it that people will spout off an answer without checking to see if the answer is correct. First thing most carriers now do their drug testing in house. The physical is mostly now just a check up. The only body fluid tested in most physicals today is urine. This test is just a dip test to make sure you do not have proteins spilling over into your urine. If so it is a sign of possible diabetes. If you are taking most pain meds and have a valid prescription for it your OK even if you do get drug tested. You just should not be driving until you see how the med will effect you. And to answer your question I have a serious doubt if any low grade infection will cause a fail. Most infections cause your white blood cells to increase to fight off the infection, this white blood count is not tested in a DOT physical. Your body temp might spike up a bit depending on how bad an infection you have. If the examiner asks about your temp tell them you have a tooth infection. There is no FMCSA rule that I know of that prohibits driving a CMV with an infection.
