I've talked to people that don't believe there's such a thing as a flathead V-8.
When I was young my next door neighbor had a Pontiac with a straight 8 engine.AModelCat Thanks this. -
All I can say is WTF happend in the last 60ish years?

Love the simplicity of the Flathead V8. Just too bad Ford did a complete 180 with overcomplicating everything. Like where's the engine under all that crap?

I like those running boards on the old pickup trucks.
Cars used to have those, "back in the day."
Could swap out an engine in about an hour then. Put any engine in any car and get the engine mounts through the mail from J.C. Whitney catalog. -
I don't know if its just me (because I wasn't born until long after the muscle car days) but it just seems like cars back in the 40's to late 80's have character. Almost like a personality of their own. Today's vehicles, to me, seem to represent a lack of individuality. They're built to a "cookie cutter" spec. IDK maybe its because I'm young and its rare to see a done up Chevelle or Nova out on the roads today. I guess that's why I'm a fan of class 8 trucks. Most guys have them done out in their own unique way that reflects their own personality.

Mine isn't that nice looking. It's in a '50 Ford Coupe.

Under head , instead of over head. First saw the intake setup, was hoping it was going to be a 6 pack.

Chinatown Thanks this.

Want to build at least one more hot rod one day. Chrysler had a dual 4 set up that ran all way across the engine. Right carb fed the left bank and left the right. Cross Ram if I remember correctly . Carbs were out above the exhaust. With two TBI systems , a nice 6 speed bolted to a punched out 440, in a 67 B body?
BoxCarKidd and Chinatown Thank this. -
AModelCat Thanks this.
