I met with the terminal manager yesterday and have the job if I want to take it in November. Just want to gauge what you guys think about the pay. Only problem is they don't offer tuition assistance or an Apprenticeship Program. At the same time if this company is good and the pay is pretty good it may offset that. What you guys think? Superior Carriers, CTL and Schneider Bulk are my options right now.

    I'd go with Superior-Carriers.
Do you have any pay info on CTL?

I talked to a driver at their Augusta terminal and he said he made $65K. I'm pretty sure he said Augusta terminal.

Sounds good. I would be okay with that but understand my first year may not look like that. Just need to get trained up and get some experience.

You won't be too far off from that amount.
    Maybe 55K - $60K.

They don't offer tuition reimbursement because they usually don't hire new grads. They will train you for like 2 months or so though. I was very lucky to get hired there out of school. I went to a community college, and after tuition, endorsements, twic, etc, I spent about $2600 total. But the pay will more than make up for it. Superior pays more than Schneider, but I'm not familiar with CTL's pay. Most drivers at Superior make $60K-$80K, depending on your terminal and home time.

Yes I think I'm very lucky to have this opportunity so might want to jump on it.
I was told I would train for 2 months or dependent on how I'm doing. I see some folks went to Greer for HAZMAT training but he didn't say anything about that. I will have to ask him.

Yep, you'll go to Greer for a week and learn things in the classroom. I went after I was just about done with training.

Sorry @Chinatown I missed when you asked about CTL. Actually the recruiter just called me this afternoon and wants me to contact them around Oct when I'm almost out the Army. I was in a class and didn't even ask her what the pay was. I will see if I can dig it up or give her a call.

So you think 41 cpm empty and 51 cpm loaded is pretty decent for a newbie?
