Thank you I'll definitely be watching the youtube vids to sharpen up. My wife is soooo excited. As am I. I'm just the one with the pressure, as they say, it's my job to lose. I don't anticipate any problems, I always study until I can't get it wrong. Just can't wait to get it over, my blood pressure usually goes up 20 points just walking into a DR's office.
Walmart here I come!

The same applies to the 5/2-5/3 program. The 6/2 program works the same but it involves four drivers sharing three trucks. Other programs such as 5/5, 6/6 are two drivers sharing one truck. The 3/2 program is three drivers sharing two trucks and the driver is off for a whole week every third week.
These programs are good for drivers with less seniority as it allows for time off on a lot of weekends. You know your schedule for the whole year and can plan around your days off. I have been on the 5/2-5/3 program for more than a year and like it.Ron_G_Sr and BackIsSore Thank this. -

Buckeye has both the 6/2 with multiple trucks, and the 6/2 with one truck. My husband started on a 5/2, went to a 6/2 with multiple trucks, and is now on a 6/2 with only his own truck. He really likes it.

I have heard some of the office people telling drivers that we are all 5 and a 1/2 day drivers. (not including program drivers) We weren't called that when I hired on. (If I'm a 5.5 day driver why do I only work 5 days most of the year?) Yes, they can extend us an extra half day if they want to, but when they do we only get a day and a half off not two days. We still go out again on our regular day out. If they are now hiring people straight into a rotating day out position of 5.5 days on and 2 days off it's news to me. That half day would logically also rotate your depart time. Let me guess... they rotate the day out, but not the depart time? Doesn't sound like an official program to me.
I've seen a rotating day out for the sake of a full day (like 4 on 4 off) but not for a half a day. Program positions are something you normally sign up for. I've never heard of anyone being tossed into one without wanting it.
I've encountered situations were the DC has strayed from "official policy" in their programs. If it works out and everyone is happy all is well. If a problem comes up and Bentonville gets pulled into it they will enforce official policy.Last edited: Jun 19, 2016
