    Soooo I'm just wondering...
Do all these people that lease a new truck and then run for .90 or $1 a mile plus FSC ever do math before jumping into it?
Whenever I run the numbers I see I'd earn more as a company driver vs doing one of those cheap lease mileage scams.
Why anybody would choose to have the responsibility of a $150,000 truck and pay for it so they can earn less money than a company driver and yet still rely on dispatcher to run their life and business... it just ... it just blows my mind
I don't get it, it doesn't make sense to me but yet sooo many people do it.

Everybody likes to bash companies, brokers, cheap freight etc but I think us drivers are at fault for a lot.
There's too many dummy drivers out here ruining it for the rest of us, just saying.
    Okay rant over :dontknow:

This is exactly why I've not pulled the trigger on owner operator with Total, 0.92 a mile plus FSC which averages to like 0.16 a mile is no where near enough to be successful

People like to rag on me and my short loads but the numbers make sense to me.
Of course it's about managing the deadhead and time with customers when dealing with multiple loads a day.

However all I got to do is about 350 miles or so a day at $2 all miles.. do that for 7 days and I'll clear around $3,000 after all costs for a full week. If done right it I can pull off good weeks without driving a lot but it takes lots and lots of planning.

If I did 3500 miles a week at $1.45 all miles I'd earn less than doing 2500 miles at $2 all miles.
I'd rather spend more time farting around at customers rather than driving like a mad man to make the same if not less money. Thats just me though.
