This program wasn't easy over a year ago when i signed, it has gotten way more difficult to get good rates. For someone to succeed at this you will have to work your ### off, its a 24/7 job. Always planning, always looking ahead. Its a constant grind. You gotta be hungry and motivated to make it work in the long run. I've personally known several guys come and go, everyone i stayed in touch with from my orientation class but 1 guy is gone, and even he is in the process of trying to get his truck turned in. The freight is here its just a question of how hard your willing to work nonstop.

Yeah I agree with both of you. -
Thats where the real work comes in.
The driving is the easy part.donkeyshow72 Thanks this. -
I'm not going to argue with you, just pointing out there are other ways of doing things. You post some great stuff - very informative, so I have no beef with you but there is more than one way to go about things.
I was with SNI for 7 years and almost did the lease when it first started up there. Maybe I made a mistake? Don't know but, I do know I like where I'm at and that is what counts, right? Besides, the more you bash the $0.90'ers the more people will flock to SNI and fight for your loads that go up for 0.00003 seconds.
Tell you what, I sure don't miss the days of empty searches and trying to get a trailer that didn't have a ventilated roof. Look at the bright side, I'm not competing for your loads.

I was just pointing out that .90 per mile leases suck and you'd be better off as a company driver.
You responded to a comment on the JCT thread pretty on the same page with me.
As far as Schneider goes, they've fixed the MT issue a lot. How often do drivers complain about finding empties now? I rarely ever see drivers bring that up.
Yes it's more difficult here now just like everywhere else.. it is what is it is.
Somebody beating me to a good load doesn't piss me off nearly as much as all these people running around hauling cheap freight.
People willing to work for peanuts hurts us all in the end.
Take a look what just happened in Florida with the driver protests. Drivers hauling freight cheaper and cheaper till it gets soo cheap they protest when really they should look in the mirror.donkeyshow72, PoleCrusher, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
How hard is this...
To each his own. Not one size fits all. Everyone has different wants, needs, desires, feelings, home time, kids, nagging wife, etc etc etc....
Let it go people (I'm looking at you fw)....
People need to do what they like, want, love to do..... if they don't, what's the ducking point?!?!...
What works for some, won't work for others, and vice versa....
Roll on....free2frog, Opus, againstthewind and 7 others Thank this. -

If someone is happy thats all that matters.
I use to fourm to express thoughts at times but it really doesn't matter.. this is just the internet lol.
I know my comments or others won't really make a difference, those who want to run for .90 a mile will do it anyways and these carriers love it. -
No, I certainly did not. You chose to read it how you wanted to interpret it, not what was said in entirety.
What was said is I will make basically what a company schmuck makes but I will end up with a truck, too. Just a minor detail, I know.
I will leave you to your bashing. Carry on.

You said if the person was after money they are barking at the wrong dog.
Then compared the money of a good company driver vs leasing like I did here.
Basically I pointed out what you already pointed out previously that about the "money" in short which isn't good.
Dunno why you brought up that "detail" again.
Good company jobs pay $70-$90k a year, can someone clear that paying for a lease running for .90 a mile? That's basically what you're pointing at now.
Maybe my math is wrong, perhaps you can show me how a .90 a mile lease driver can clear that amount.
If I am wrong I really would like to know, I'll shut up bashing .90 a mile carriers if you can explain to me how someone paying for fuel, a new truck, insurance etc etc while running for .90 plus fsc earns the same as a good company job.
Please enlighten us, maybe I'm wrong about this and .90 a mile is great!
