Ive got 42 years into this stuff and pulled about every kind of trailer you can pull. The only thing I have not pulled is mobile homes- too much headache for me lol Oversized loads were bad enough- especially on two lane roads.

I think about driving flatbeds and tarpping a load and my back hurts just from the thought. I don't care how much you guys make, you are underpaid.

Tarps? Is that a exotic disease? Or like seasonal affected disorder? :)

Yea took me 8 years to get away from it but when I did, I never looked back lol Id love a flatbed job without tarps but the company I worked for wanted everything tarped, even if it tore the tarps up!lol

I can just barely pull it out using a screwdriver for leverage but it's still not budging even when I do that. I thjnk I'm just going to say f it and cut it

Did you get it loose? Take it out there, open your rachet all the way, hook the long end of the strap to your rub rail on your trailer, take the rachet end of the strap, get rid of the slack in it and give it a couple of jerks, that should free it up? It looked in the picture like it was hooked on both ends. If not, I apologize for the misinterpretation.
