First time posting here but I read and research on this website for the last few years and have learned a lot. I have been driving for 3yrs otr regional and local a year each. clean mvr, and background, dac and minor stuff on psp like over axle weight and being over placarded (different times). OK my problem is at my last job I got fired for safety violation due to making a u-turn bobtailing(not illegal u turn and no ticket). Last I checked they didn't report it to dac. the companies i tried to go to won't touch me until I have 6month safe driving . What companies do you recommend I should talk to that will overlook it except the mega carriers. Also I have talked to a contractor for FedEx ground and since FedEx will have to clear me first, does being terminated will be an issue with fedex?
    Thank you in advance

I would think not, especially with the way some of those FedEx Ground drivers drive.

I hear stories about how they drive (right foot stuck on accelerator) but could just be bad apples..hopefully I can be different if I work for them.

Abilene Motor Express; it's not a mega and also not small; maybe 400 trucks.
I read these threads every day and Abilene seems to have the highest morale of any company whose drivers post on here.
@JohnBoy maybe can help with this company.

    Wow, terminated for a u turn ?
...was this a company policy? If not you can easily win the unemployment claim , while you look for another job but don't depend on unemployment, usually drivers are already working somewhere else by the time the first unemployment check comes in the mail ....
Hire right ( dac reports) are currently being sued for withholding information from drivers on dac reports, so it's not safe to think it's not on your DAC report
.... Did you tick someone off or something like that because a u turn is not a very good reason to fire anyone

I think they put up recruiting posters at demolition derbys.

Lol thats crazy...It seems they get paid well, don't see a reason to be flying. I have done FedEx loads otr team driving and we've always had enough time.

I'm referring to their speed and being on hammer lane.
