    authorized bobtailing list?????
ok then G.P Halsey to the pioneer villa truck stop should be on it.
as I was there last week and asked night dist via text message if i could b.t over to the truck stop and get something to eat as i had allready been sitting there three hours and i didn't pack my shovel for some other business that needed tending to, and I was told NO you cant move with out a load. I did it anyway. anyway three day later i finialy got a load out of there as the load i was waiting on got canceled.

And they thought i was just gonna sit on g.ps lot for three days with no food, bathroom, ect

    HELL,prisoners get treated better!:biggrin_2551:

    I know about that policy.

You should probaly talk to your regular dispatcher ask her if you are ever in that situation again can you bobtail to the nearest place for food, shower bathroom break most likely your dispatcher will say go for it.

I had a dispatch to bobtail from layton treminal to a shop in Wyoming and pick up and deliver load I went into my dispatcher and asked her to pull up current dispatch then asked her is she sure that I was suppose to bobtail all the way there even though there is a no bobtail policy except for the authorized locations.
She told me to shut up and go get that load.

Night dispatch are idiots all they are there for mostly is the live loaded calls and to answer the phones.

...well my blood pressure goes up reading posts like this.. it's all B.S!! to put up with this nonsense it's a wonder anyone drives OTR at all; they micro-manage everything now, u hav no freedom to make your own sensible decisions anymore without getting some button pushers approval.. I wouldn't last 6 months with any of the companies posted here; the pay isn't worth the headaches!

Well you have to put up with it at any trucking company as you do not own the truck the company does.
If you do not want to follow the companies rules do not start into this indstury.
Their main concern is accidents and the amount of fuel that will be used if you bobtail anywere you want.
If there was not a no bobtailing policy some billy big rig would bobtail many miles and it would cost the company a ton of money.
Alot of driver managers will tell you that you do not need their premission only to use good judgment when you bobtail Ie only close places nothing over 3-5 miles unless it is on the approved bobtail list.
Personally I do not have a problem with this policy.

Try to arrange it with your DM before they go home. A little planning and communication goes a long way.

I'll have to look for that bobtail list. Don't recall seeing one in either Denver or Payette, but I wasn't looking for one. Only place I've felt any need to bobtail from, though, was Yolo yard, while I was waiting for some driver from SoCal to drop a trailer I was to take to Hermiston. Was only a 7 hour wait.. but a little A/C would have been nice. Instead, I just sat under a trailer with the four-footed dog.

I know there is one inside the drivers door in layton were the pocpcorn machine is if you can not find it Kelsey will help you she is a or was hotty when I was there.
The one in payette should be by the pop machines or in that general area.
You can easly bobtail down to the pilot in oregon and all of those restarants just down the road from the payette yard.
