how many you got?? been there done that, first with exempt and then 14 years authority, also had customers of my own while leased , cut a deal at both places for 89 percent with their numbers. so i know of what i speak, i had to run 4 trucks and as many as 8 to stay in, i know what i speak of.

I know this is an older post, but I tried searching for short haul board on the other thread and couldn't come up with anything.

Is there still a short haul board?

Yes. It's not really a separate board. That is just a term still used from the old days before computers when each agency would keep track of trucks in their area.

I'll try to explain how it works. Every load gets put on our load board. Every one matches up to loads based on the preferences they have set in the system. If a guy is working the short haul board he still see all the long haul loads and same for the guys working the long haul see the short stuff. And it works off a first empty first offered system.

So say me, skateboardman and cjindatruck all match to a load going 400 miles or less. Because I'm on the short haul board i will get it before they do even if they are empty first. But the reverse is also true. If i empty before them they can jump ahead of me on any leads going 401 miles or farther.

It sounds confusing but in reality its actually really simple.

That kind of makes sense. I didn't think it was a separate board, but wasn't quite sure.

    Oh Brother..........Just Pathetic....
You don't know squat about what you speak of.
We get it Mercer is the only way to make money as a one truck show.
Keep telling yourself that and anyone that will listen. Because you're only holding yourself back.
