Does it do any good to tell the DM or Load planner what you want?

How much CHOICE does the load planner have looking at 'load boards'?

    A lot? Little? None?

One driver in particular, only liked to run a certain hub of states and he told me he got that.

Personally, I don't have any demands, I just wondered what was possible.
How many different loads could they give to me?

That 'team player' bit doesn't play out to the wife and kids when my check is short.

First off, keep in mind that there are a lot of drivers that are babies or BSers or both.
Don't be taken in by what they tell you. Keep in mind that you and your DM/planner/, dispatcher need to have a decent working relationship. As the new kid on the block, it IS up to you to try to build that relationship. That doesn't mean you have to kiss their fanny, but before you speak, think about how it will sound to them. Think how you would react to what you want to say, or request, if you were in their shoes.

You are driving their truck , right. So, can't be too demanding or they'll dry you out and you'll quit. Be polite and do what that computer tells you. And maybe down the line, after they can finally pronounce your name right, just then you can ask for little favors. Don't be like that kind of driver with 10 companies in 3 years. When I got my truck , the messages were still there from previous driver. I've read all of them. He was rude and throwing names here and there. Calling customers this and that. If I was his dispatcher, I'd make sure he quit. Total pos of a driver. Don't be a pos

Today I drove 400 empty miles, so I can get a home load. Life will be easy if you willing to work with them

You average 10 replies a day since you've been here. If you aren't a super trucker, I don't know who would qualify.

Kind of a tough question to answer. It depends... is likely the best answer to that.
Depends on how much freight they have moving, what the company policy is etc etc.

I never told them where I would and wouldn't go. I just wanted miles.

Looking back, I wonder if it would of been good for me to be a little more proactive.

Oh I get that, but look at your numbers, been here 6+ years, about 2600 messages. That seems fairly active.

If old boy had been here for the last 6 years, like you, he would of put in close to 28,000 messages.
