Ended up getting a load from Louisville to North Platte, drops on the 2nd or 3rd.
I'll swing by home for the night and drop on the 3rd.
I'm sure my next load will be another 51 mile load.

A shag is a short load.
If I got paid percentage I'd want to run short loads as they pay a lot more per mile,
But here if you run a shag, they won't reward you with a better load afterwards.
I told this one to find me a daycab too.

    4mer trucker Thanks this.

They still pay U mileage on a shag?

If its live on either end that would suck

From a time standpoint even if it's a D&H probably not worth it on mileage pay

There's a "short mileage pay" thing that helps, but it often still isn't worth it. Usually you take one to get you moving and hope for something better on the next load

That wouldbe fine if U were preplanned with the shag setting U up for the longer trip(without it cancelling)

    Lone Ranger 13 Thanks this.

They didn't even know what part of the state I was in. I'd of been late for delivery on the start of a holiday weekend.
They did offer a follow up preplan, 2 stops and less then 500 miles that was unloggable, because I was 200 miles south of where I emptied out Sunday,
And they think that one load is the only load and I'm the only truck Crete has.
I turned down breakfast with a friend this morning, just to waste all morning refusing that stupid load

Lone Ranger 13 and 4mer trucker Thank this.

I was with Crete 18 years.
I've been off the road four years.
I am now able to go back to work. I still have my truck.
I was looking at trucking companies on the net last night.
Crete had a nice ad . But your post reminds me to go elsewhere.
Actually, I remember how f'ed up they are.
Short loads are great for the company. I thought of it as charity work for the company. And they already make millions.

tucker and 4mer trucker Thank this.
