13 freightliner cascadia won't start

    came into fuel island, turned truck off and now it won't start, electronics set but when I turn key nothing... Any idea? Thanks

    Well after checking fuses and nothing wrong, hit the starter with a hammer and it turns and off we go... Looks like I have a new starter in my near future

    The Starter Solenoid is on the way out, outside and engine heat amplifies the problem even more.

    Yeah I'll be getting it replaced this week... Gotta love the O/O expenses! Ha good thing I used a little American Muscle on that starter! Haha

    It's a holiday weekend, doubt any place is open to service but you are correct, fix flaws asap

    I changed mine back in December on a 2013 DD15. Pretty easy, just get the wires out of the way. Had to use a wobble type extension to get at the back inner nut. Loved that it sits on studs now instead of bolts, so you can undo them all then pull it out. Easy to slide back in, the studs support the weight while you put the nuts back on.
