Interesting is one way to put it. You won't sleep so much as pass out from exhaustion. On the plus side you won't be training for very long.

Macros are pretty easy to learn and are as you mentioned, very logical. There are times I have forgotten to send them and sent a Begin trip, Arrive consignee, Empty consignee and End trip all at the same time. Never heard anything about it.

The most complicated aspect of working here, is knowing who to contact and how to get ahold of them. Or I should say, that is what has caused me the most stress.

Here it's different. They don't answer the phone and prefer you use the QC. And I've heard of at least 3 drivers who got in a wee spot of trouble by calling on the phone too much. Matter of fact, I think it's in our handbook. Excessive use of phone? Unless they are talking about you being on the phone too much while driving. If that is the case I think we'd all be up schitz creek!

Side note: unless you're JB. ;)

And just when you figure that very thing out, they go and shift folks around just to make it interesting again!

As I told John on the phone (and posted throughout my thread), I've never needed much sleep since I was a kid. 3 to 4 hours max. Came in handy when running my construction business. Up at 3am, couple hours of paperwork, out the door at 6, on the job by 7. Work an 8 to 10 hour day building homes. Get home, shower, eat, up till midnight doing paperwork, repeat 6 days a week. I don't "exhaust" easy.

While I may not be "quite" as chipper as I was at say 40, I still hold pretty much the same schedule. Of course now I'm not building homes in between ... LOL

To wait out the 10 hour break, I had to keep myself awake for a few hours after I stopped so I'd get up an hour or so before I could leave. That's when I'm fresh and ready to rock. If I slept right away and woke up 4 to 6 hours before I could go, I'd be more tired from sitting all that time. That's why I've always had a problem with the HOS. Contrary to our government's thinking, one size does NOT fit all. Everyone is different and you just can't legislate sleep.

Oh I hear ya. I sent the free forms as well. When (if) they went unanswered I called. Yea, I bugged them .. lol

I think they simply weren't used to having an "employee" who thinks like an employer. If they want to get mad at me for trying to keep things efficient? I may get in that wee bit of trouble myself. ... LOL

I have the Blue Parrot and I hope they don't mind that. Aside from the many business calls we have to make out there, I'd sometimes have some rather long conversations with other driver friends of mine. Hey, as we all know, it can get lonely out there.

Yes, that will piss someone off but the wee bit of trouble you might get in is worth it and actually helps to keep others on track.

It's a team effort, we get talked to when we are inefficient, well, two way street, IMHO.

In a persistent professional way of course. ;-)

Now, are they aware the start date was changed form the 6th to Monday the 11th? Or should I still call Trish tomorrow morning and make sure?
