I don't think you understand so I will state the obvious. Trucking involves working various and long hours which leads to sleep deprivation which can cause many health problems. Another thing, stopping at a store to get quality food is not always an option so drivers are stuck eating truck stop food. Even if you can stop at a store you're limited in what you can cook in a truck.

This is probably the only industry where the workers (us drivers) try to minimize the actual skills and sacrifices required and therefore only work against our own interests. The thing about McDonald's does not pertain to our industry one bit as fully automated trucks are still at least twenty years away. Besides, they only made the order process computerized. You still have to pay a live cashier and they still have cooks in the back preparing the food.

You my friend are wrong. Have you ever driven a truck? Have you ever tried to eat healthy or cook in a truck? I have and do. I can make whatever I want. If you rely on stopping at the truck stop then you are a fool. I go to grocery stores and buy what I need for the week. Sometimes I buy for longer depending on my plans. I cook fresh meats and vegetables. I make what I want when I want it for the most part. If someone can't take the time to eat healthy then that is their own problem. Nobody else's. Noone controls what these fat, nasty slobby truckers eat and it shows. A job doesn't control a lifestyle. Maybe these overworked and underpaid slobs should jump out of the truck and go for a run or do some calasthenics or something. These people that are supposedly overworked and underpaid do the same to their body. Keep blaming the inability to eat correctly on the job. That's fine. Eventually that hearts going to go on strike. Good luck negotiating with that. 20160116_184524.jpg 20151211_172220.jpg 20151221_102914.jpg

Should I continue adding pics? These were all made in a truck with a normal sleeper on it. Nothing is instant.

I too, try to eat in the truck. I have a grill and a microwave. I wish we could get companies to buy, and manufacturers to build some real creature comforts in the truck. Wouldn't take much the redesign a sleeper to add a small sink, so dishes could be washed, teeth could be brushed, and a sponge bath could be taken. Also a two burner stove with vent fan, and a real refrigerator wouldn't be hard to do. Wouldn't cost much, in the long run, when the benefits are weighed into the equation. Drivers would be happier, healthier, and more productive long term.

Lol. That's how I feel when I have the crock pot going. All day I smell deliciousness but it's worth it in the end.

You lack ambition if you do not eat good food on the road.

To each their own. For some, cooking in the truck is not practical or worthwhile. And, furthermore, not "cooking" in the truck does not mean you must eat bad fast food each and every meal. I stay out months at a time (by choice) and I don't "cook" and don't want to, however I can survive living exclusively out of my pantry for a few weeks if I had to. Just because you go into the Pilot or Petro to eat does not mean you are destined to consume 1,000+ calories of bad processed food, and are going to die of poor dietary causes next month.

Not oversize but that's how I got started.
Its really not that hard you just have to have a little ambition and determination.
