I honestly don't care what others make. I care what I make. If others are struggling that's because they either are not good with their own finances or they don't make enough. It they don't make enough then they should do something about that other than crying about it. Crying dont get you more money, but qualifications do. Stop crying and improve yourself. Or save up money and risk it to make more. There's only so many ways to move up and they have long been defined.

    "Ethical wage" :biggrin_25523:
I don't know what an "ethical wage" is and I'm pretty sure I don't want an ethical wage for my son who will be entering the workforce soon.

I just want to him to earn wages for his time, labor, and expertise . Furthermore, I want him to have the ability to work harder and/or longer if he wants more wages, or the freedom to go elsewhere if he wants more wages for the some output.

You can keep your "ethical wages". I like my wages as they are.

If somebody offered him two dollars an hour and worked him like a dog you'd be fine with it? Hey, it's a "wage" after all! You drank the capitalist/exploiter kool-aid....

If he's fine with it, I'm fine with it. But see that's where personal freedom, personal responsibility, and free markets comes into play, in that world, there are no limits, however, in your prescribed world there are minimums ... where there are minimums, there are also maximums. Sounds like you drank the progressive socialist kool-aid. Sorry for your misfortune.

If it was my son I wouldn't have to do anything because he would already know his time was worth more than that.

It isn't anyone else's business what wage someone else is willing to drive for. It is between the employer and the employee. What's so complicated about that?

And that is why unions were formed years ago......

Takes away all the Babycake B.S. involved with "Whats a good wage" When people are so tossed around with what they think is a good wage...Bickering back n forth

So a collective agreement gets reached on a majority vote and Boom.....There's your Wage, And...Its generally a Wage that satisfies the most stringent, crybaby out there..

For some, I suppose its too much money,If that could ever be a statement

So......You guys can Use Free Markets as a Ploy to continue the Merciless torture amongst each other when there are many that simply cant Achieve a recognizable living wage.
