I'm seeing the GPS talk here. I use the Rand McNally 710 and have the lifetime maps for it. I use it almost exclusively for trips. It does however have some strange approaches in tighter areas. When that happens, I'll map it out on Google, set up a multi stop run in the 710 and use exits, intersections, street names etc .... to have the 710 do it right. Can also be done right from the QC if you trust those directions are accurate.

Another nice feature is the "trails" in the 710. Basically it records your path and you can then save it. Just be sure you don't make any mistakes along the way. Yup, I did a couple times and the "happy trails" were junk ... LOL

That's one hell of a glitch routing you 10 miles to make a right turn instead of a left in a 1/4 mile.

It also does a crazy thing where it tells you to get off on eastbound exit then cross the road to go west rather than just take the westbound exit in the first place.

Haven't had any serious issues like that, just some benign but baffling routing.

I have both a RM730 and then the CoPilot App on my iPhone... I saw the "trails" option but have not yet played around with it.

RM is nice but there are times I don't understand what it's doing... Like going to BH Brooklyn... It routed me 100+ miles around the whole city to get there. (Edit: no, I didn't follow it)

I might have to make a trail the next time I roll up that way... Hoping its six months down the road... or more.

Yup, they want to see the actual registration in the permit book. You can't just give them your tag number.

A few of us had to walk back to our trucks to get it as you won t be getting in otherwise.

It will be a happy day when I no longer have to deal with food distribution warehouses and associated brokers.

I mapped out the proper route on their trip planner on my laptop and imported into the gps. Will have to see if I did it correctly tomorrow.
