I drop the trailer if I can and bobtail for fuel and usually park at the truck stop too since I don't really like taking anything wide or long into them depending on which one it is. Sometimes if I need fuel in the middle of the day because of the the distance I'm covering I pull up to the fuel pumps and get backed out by my pilots. Although I've squeezed threw some fuel lanes with inches to spare lol
Oxbow Thanks this. -
I've set a big trailer on the shoulder before with my rear car protecting it and bob tailed into a small place for fuel. This is really a last resort and I usually drop in the back of the lot of I can get in.
TripleSix and HighCountry Thank this. -
But you gotta remember their escorting on there off time. (Most of them I believe).
They don't want to be Liable for anything.
BIG Pennsylvania super load, Bad route survey, Bad permit routing and I'm heading into a national park.
The XXX's getting real deep real quick. Cop's just shrug their shoulders.

Another reason we fill em to the top before even getting the load.
OH and traffic cones are sacrificial lambs. I went through one construction zone last year and I was brushing the cones on both sides with the excavator tracks. The construction guys just stared. Did not knock a one over.
Now when we took the bridge beams into Yellowstone Park last year it probably took them half a day to set all the candle sticks back up. They had them down the middle of the road and we had warned them about removing them weeks before we came in.Dye Guardian Thanks this. -
Thanks everyone!
Cnsper, the pic had wooden guardrail on the LH and jersey barrier on the right. But I get the point you're making.
It sounds like hh/osow isn't for dummy's. And that common sense goes a long ways.
"But it looks so easy!!" Not by a long shot.Dye Guardian Thanks this.
