Let me rephrase...there is less freight than in the past 7 or 8 months...but they have also told me they're being very selective who they allow on this program now....

I can tell you, 95% of the bobtails sitting around obetz are company lease turn in trucks. The lease expired and they gave the driver a new truck.

Yeah I believe you. It's what what I here all the time. I guess what I am trying to figure out is does SNI now run their trucks on three year cycles then return them like the rest of the megas . They use to run their trucks for every ounce of life they had in them. Really none of my business as it doesn't affect me one way or another. All the dust covered bobtails fascinates me. I'm just simple like that.

In the last couple years they went back to the 3 yr cycle. So the coprporate tax shell game is back in effect. SFI leases to SNI then each gets whatever tax breaks there are for those lease terms.

Now my current truk was built in 2012 and hit service sometime in the fall of that year. Its a model year 2013 and I am still in it with 385k on the clock. Mech said they would likely run out the warranty before its sold though. So really I have no idea.

I have heard the same as far as electrical issues and some other small complaints. But then again it's a Columbia and they can be shotty whether factory or glider. Small issues like that seem small to me if it gets you away from emission issues. I would look at as many as you can though. Was in Charlotte a few weeks ago and saw one one the lot for sale that was spotless. Even the frame rails were still glossy.if I was in the market for a truck would have rolled the dice on it in a second. But I am a sucker for a pre emission Detroit so take it with a grain of salt.
