I've been researching LTL companies, and decided to put this question to the drivers on this forum: which company would be a good choice for my location, and the most solid choice for a career? I want to retire from the company I finally decide on.
My background: I'm 47 years old and have driven the last 10 years OTR, reefer. It finally got old. I have all the required endorsements, but zero experience with anything other than a '53 trailer. My driving record? Almost perfect, but not quite (backing incident 4 years, no cops, no injurys, but preventable). Thanks.
Oh, Bakersfield, CA, btw
Thinking about LTL, and I live in Bakersfield

I don't know you, but I don't like you.
I care less how you feel.
As I sit here and judge you.
I've never walked the streets of Bakersfield.
I kid.
It serves one to be light hearted.
Shortly, someone will be along to tell you how good your chances and where in town to find them. -
KillingTime Thanks this.

I see Saia and Conway in your area as options. Most peeps would prob go with Saia as option#1.
Good luck sir. Must be easier doing LTL in a smaller town like Bakersfield.gramcracker Thanks this. -

Move to California, get corrupted by all that sun, wake up one day with no memory of Ohio other than "that cold place with no ocean nearby".
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I don't have ocean, but I do have a big giant Lake that spans a couple states about a mile from my house. I do think it's hallarious that people from around here say "Were going to the beach." That means there going to Lake Erie I always say I'm going to the Lake, but people call the shores of Lake Erie "the beach", the beach is on the ocean, not Lake Erie.Pintlehook, Giuseppe Ventolucci and skinnytrucker Thank this.
