Training depends on your experience. I, for instance, was out for a week in a refresher program. Mainly because I had no elog experience and I had been out of work for a while and I was concerned about my stamina on the road. If you are fresh out of school, and have never driven before, you will be under a trainer for a few weeks. While under a trainer, home time will be at the pleasure of the trainer. You may not have much control over that. That is just how trucking works. Once you solo out, you can get home every 2 weeks if you want.
