    Trucker1979,

"Also ABF where I work has been in business since 1923 before Walmart was even thought about."

Next time you're down at the union hall, say hi to your fellow CF, PIE, Time-DC, Red Ball,TNT, etc, etc, etc..drivers.

Just because you were here yesterday, doesn't mean you'll be here tomorrow. And that goes for Walmart too.

$6750 out of pocket maximum and the $3562 paid in yearly premiums ($137 paid bi-weekly) = $10,312 for the year. The $6750 only came into play because I used the insurance to a large degree and racked up over $187,000 in medical charges year to date. This does not even count the tax reductions on the premiums and out pocket expenses which will reduce it up to another 28%.

To you this may be too much money, but to me, it is less than 5% of the net income between my wife and I. Sure, I could pay higher premiums and get a lower deductible and out of pocket expense, but I stick with what is more sensible financially.

As for ABF being older than Walmart, so what. What has it done for ABF? Certainly not had an impact of the size of ABF. It is not even among the top 10 largest for hire carriers, all of which with exception of UPS are much younger than ABF, and is not even the largest carrier in its home state of Arkansas as both JB Hunt and Walmart Transportation are larger in fleet size, tonnage of freight hauled and revenue. Financially, ABF is treading water. As a publicly traded company, just look at ABF's financial statements to see ABF is declining in freight tonnage hauled and net earnings. Eventually the money runs out much like so many other LTL carriers who have priced themself out of business.

Enjoy your cheap medical benefits while you have them. When you feel like bragging some more, go post on a ABF thread.

I'm using common sense. Your using stupidity. It's common sense that your insurance sucks and should be better.

Why are you so concerned about what someone at a company you do not work for pays for insurance?

If you want to play this game, then why are trucks ABF has on the road being put ouf of service 12 times more often than Walmart trucks? Your trucks suck and should be better! I can go on and on with this if needed.

Our trucks don't suck. The oldest truck is 3 years old. They maintain the equipment pretty well. U are absolutely wrong about that.
Your trucks are nothing to brag about. When I took my road test the truck I was in wouldn't even build up air pressure when it got low. Lol that's a fact!! The safety guy and I are standing outside the truck with the hood up. Lmao
