I heard they were reorganizing some of the warehouses and that's impacting the loads and what DC is covering what area, etc.

Hey.. you said you take every load given to you short or long..

So we have a choice .. we can turn down loads.. if so how do we do that...

I think what Tom meant, was that no matter what you do, you'll make a good living. Sure, some loads go to a store that is more difficult than others, but you take the load, deliver it , and go on. Do what I do, tell youself hundreds of other drivers have done this load, and I'm better than they are(!!!!) and go do it.
I have requested to be kept local because of a family members health issue, but that's as far as I've gone in 15 years. Taken all the rest.

Exactly what I meant and you even added some more that I totally agree with. :)

Only time I would ever turn down a load is if it were due to hours of service and/or would cause me to miss my go home date.

If you've done physical and drug screen and all are ok, they may be waiting for other drivers results to come back , so they can make a group of drivers to train.
It can be frustrating. Relax, and let the system work.

They send a document to your previous employer(s) that is separate from the rest of the background check. (All employers are supposed to do this. So, it's not just a Walmart thing.)

Just relax, if you've been through the road test, drug screen and physical, then you've done all that you can do. Just let them do their thing and they'll get with you when they've completed the whole process. Or if there are any issues or things that need to be explained, they'll contact you.

There's no need to bug them by calling and checking on where you are in the process, etc. They've done this thousands of times and their process is their process. When they're ready to talk to you or make the final offer and schedule your orientation, they'll call you.

The same thing happened to my husband in December of last year. The dr. said his neck was too large and he was a prime candidate for sleep apnea. He took went to the sleep dr. on his own and found out he does have sleep apnea, so he got his machine. Another DC near us was hiring, he applied and has now been there 3 months and is loving it!!! Keep watching the postings and get your application in as quick as possible. Good luck!!!
