He has not yet done that. Currently in that process. This is never happened before and he's driven for years.

Speed in a car is totally different than a truck that can weigh up to 40 tons. What was the posted truck speed and how fast was he going? If he was heavy you use the gears and engine brakes, not ride the actual brakes to slow down.

He should have felt his brakes getting mushy and he should have stopped. Trucks are allowed to pull over to the shoulder to cool their brakes down.

You posted vague information about what happened, but you blame totally the company.

Obviously he did all of the above mentioned. The brakes, two rear axle tires, and air bag pumps were all newly replaced several hours prior to the drive. He has driven for several years, he's very well aware and knowledgeable on when brakes get shakey and/or heavy to use. Like I've mentioned before, he's driven down this road several hundred times. The 1 week that he has a loaner truck this happens?

He has driven for years, but he did not feel the brakes dragging? As stated before brakes smoke way before catching fire, did he not look in his rear view windows?

If the sheriff was behind him did not the sheriff notice the smell and smoke before the fire? I ride with my window up in a car and I can smell a trucks brakes overheating and smelling while behind them for at least 1/2 a mile.

What did he weigh? What hill going down? What speed?

Why is he not here posting this? You are posting 2nd hand information and you are not able to answer any of the questions posed to you.

Again if the sheriff was behind him, he would have smelled the brakes cooking... Humm... turn on the lights and pull the truck over...

I don't get it. There were several people sued the company I work for. And won thousands of dollars. Why not do the same if the company is so bad? Drivers get rich from horrible dispatchers.

The sheriff saw no smoke, no smell. He mentioned none of that sort. Driving down the hill he heard 3 loud pops (air bag popping under the trailer?) Pulled over to the side and there was smoke and fire coming out of the middle compartment.

Going down the grade in Ashland, his mile was locked in a little under 40mph.

I'm feeling the exact same way right now considering you're not in the business and multiple people are telling you the two or three possible ways a brake can catch on fire and you refuse to listen. If you don't want to listen to smart logical answers then go away.

This wasn't a dispatch issue. This was malfunction on the truck equipment.
