Haha went to French schools but forget most of the language. I grew up by st Charles college(or nickel district drowning on your age). Fiancé works for a mining company in dowling so it works for us being in Chemmy. My yard is 2 hours away so it doesn't matter to me.

On a side note, here's my flatbed load for the ride home. Picked up most of the tires in Winnipeg and the remaining in Thunder Bay ON. Going to the retread plant in North Bay ON for Good year.

Here in the patch a float is an outside frame flatbed with a tailroll on it and legs that fold up out of the way so the nose can be laid on the ground to drive something on. With the outside frame and the legs all folded up it looks like the deck is floating in midair thus calling it a float. I've heard RGN's referred to as floats as well mostly in Canada and on the east coast.

Around here we call them lowboys, but out east I've heard float. In northern Ohio the call them carryalls or drags one real good friend of mine always called it a drag so I have that in my head and sometimes call it that. Seems like no matter where you are they seem to understand what you mean by lowboy.
