    Don't work for J.B. Hunt
I started with J.B. in January of 2007 in Cincinnati, Oh hauling lumber that was a great job but they lost that account at the end of the year so they asked me if I would transfer to Columbus. Oh and they would pay for the move I said ok well after I moved Up to Columbus, Oh they decided not to pay for the move. But instead they would let me bring the TRUCK home that was cool save on gas. Well J.B. said I would have a dedicated run to New Jersey and back that was cool but that lasted about 2 weeks. Then I was put on another run 600 miles out and back but they didn't tell me that I would be running my but off. They would give me a run of 500 miles and only 8 hours the get there. There were times I had to work 24 hours nonstop, one run I worked 36 hours and all all I had was 4 hours sleep. But I did what I was told to do ha ha.This wasn't the only time they did this, but when I said no then I sat at home. Well May-1-2008 I was heading to Greensboro, NC, I was on I-77 in WV just north of Charleston when I blacked out and wrecked the truck and was taken to the Charleston Medical Center. They thought I had a stroke I was there for 3 day's nobody from J.B. Hunt came down there to see if I was ok or if I needed anything. The doctor said that I didn't have a stroke but I had a seizure and I needed to get back to Columbus to get treatment My girlfriend called my supervisor to see when he was going down to Charleston get me and he told her he decided not to go he was busy. So when I was released to go home I had to call my girlfriend and her friend and they had to drive down to Charleston Medical Center get me and take me home. On May -5- 2008. J.B.Hunt called me and asked me how I was going to pay my insurance, and if I couldn’t pay it they would cancel my insurance in 1 week. And then I called my transportation manager 2 days later and he told me that he wasn’t involved in this matter anymore to talk to J.B. I called and they told me I had to go through my transportation manager so that went on about a week. Then on June 16th I was told by my doctor that I would never drive again. He sent the records to J.B. Hunt and 2 days later J.B. called me and told me they was going to terminate me after my FMLA was over on July-24-08 I have had nothing but hell with this company they have held up my Workers Comp, and threatened to drop my insurance. And they said the thing to do is quite, I told them I wasn’t going to, so on July-24 they sent a letter and said I was terminated so I called them to get my money and they told me that decided to hold me for 6 more week ,but if I quit they would agree, The company has not once asked how I was doing or said they were sorry about what happened, so when you hear them say the drivers are not a number, and they care about their drivers you will know that is the biggest lie in the world so save yourself a lot of problem’s DON’T WORK FOR J.B. HUNT.

I you have an open workmans comp claim do not quit. If you do they will not have to pay any of the claim. I seriously suggest you get a lawyer who handles workmans comp in AR and fight them. Good luck

How can he have a workmans comp claim when he had a seiziure?
If he had a legit workmans comp claim even if he quit or got fired they would still have to pay.

I can't comment on the Worker's Comp due to personal reasons.
But I can say this if I quit then J.B. is not liable for any actions in the future but by them firing me they are. It’s been over 4 month’s and they have done everything to get me to quit. and there is guy’s on here that has got fired a week after they got hurt so you think about it. I know why they don’t fire me and they are running out of way’s to keep me on .But time is running out they have no other choice but to fire me now and when they do you will hear the hole story. Thanks

One would think that since he had a seizure on the job, and it could have been broght on by the over working of him, and then crashing the truck it could be considered WC. Make sure you hire a attorney, if not you could loose out on some serious $$$ and not to mention the amout of bills you will be resposible for..

I know plenty about WC since my wife go hurt 7 yrs ago and her case went all the way to the SJC of Mass and she won..

And ya I worked for JB less than a month (previous post I mentioned 4 months I bad)
well I left after only getting 3000 miles in that enitre month.. My last week was sitting at Cash's truck stop in LA....

I'm shocked that you expected anything from them! What's even more ridiculous is, you expected a visit to your bedside? A card? A phone call?!! C'mon! In very few instances will you ever experience that. When you crash a truck, expect to make money etc...... You automatically become a liablility. You're were little more than a number and now most likely, financial ruin awaits you. All I can say is, good luck.

Little harsh don't ya think, I worked for a company who did just that, A worker was seriously injured because of a faulty forklift, and ended up in the hospital almost dead.. The co president showed up the next day.. ya may be some might think because he is about to get sued, but it doesn't matter him showing up earned him a lot of respect from us workers..

TGarrie383 good luck on your surgery, hop the rest works out for you..
