I would love to see those, I love old magazines. I have a large collection of old farm magazines might have to start looking for some trucker magazines.

    Well, back on topic.......

    11,000 lb. load, 16 straps and like 42 edge protectors.....These things are strap-eaters big-time....

I pull everything from tandem to super b where I'm at and let me tell ya, I'd take a tandem any day f the week.

I love pulling super b and backing it in a tight spot like I know what I'm doing(it happens sometimes, by accident; I swear) but the weight and pounding of a quad or super b out back is to be desired vs pulling a nicely tarped tandem load!

Looks good driver! How come you've got the rookie straps on? They should be under the tarp!

Just bugging ya, I'm sure theres a reason!

Dye Guardian and Chewy352 Thank this.

I love getting my spread into a tight spot. I watched a guy trying to back into a spot at the j in Mckinney tx with 2 drivers helping him and he gave up. I pulled up and backed right in with about 20 goals and pull ups. Got a round of applause for that one.

I agree. I would love to leave my tarps at home. I try my best to avoid tarp loads when ever possible. But sometimes you have to take the lessor of 2 evils to get out of where you are.

Guys that do it regularly have definitely earned my respect. Hats off to you guys.

Its the sneaky strap eaters that get me,.. especially if I get lazy and dont look thoroughly. I found that out the hard way. The edges looked ok when I tossed the straps,. went about 45 mins down the road,.. look in mirror and there is a strap dragging the asphalt. Pull over and examine everything like I should have done before I ever left the shipper and saw that 4 inches inside the edges were strap cutting rails. Doh,.. I felt stupid because I know better. That cost me 6 straps that had to be replaced.

There is. It's drywall out of CGC and that's how they do it. I'll admit I didn't do a lot of the work on the load because they have crews for loading which is kind of nice but kind of not at the same time.

They like to hook the ends under the trailer too which I personally hate and about 4 straps were twisted on the passenger side. So after I was loaded I loosened off some straps to fix that and then added an extra strap at the front of each trailer because they like to do only two straps over each... Not enough for me. I ran out of Oromocto, NB at 12:30AM... In Montreal now, so my changes are also extra peace of mind while running in the dark.

They also SUCK at rolling up excess strap in the winches. I mean really, any CGC location they always come out looking like ####!! Maybe I'm just starting to get anal about looking good and looking like care was taken.
