Once I get my feet under me and don't feel so much like a n00b, I'm definitely going to see about trying to get hometime with my mom (in Shreveport, LA) and my dad (in Albuquerque, NM). Living halfway across the country from 'em, I don't get to see 'em often.

I saw several new Western Stars at the yard. They were fueling them up. Three red ones.

Welp, had to wait a tad longer than usual but a quick 2 hour nap and we're gone again. Left the Petro a few minutes ago dead heading for San Bernadino to D&H a load going to Hazelton PA for a 3pm Monday delivery.

Question folks, Is everybody OTR on here or are there any ne regional drivers? Also what can we expect in orientation, how long after that does training start? If your trying to do regional will your trainer be regional or will you be OTR during the entire training period? Thanks for any replies!

Most are OTR here. I think one of the newer folks may have decided to go NE regional. Orientation is basically filling out paperwork, reviewing safety films, etc, and starting to learn Abilene procedures. Training typically starts immediately after orientation, and you will be assigned to whichever trainer is available at the time. One thing to note, if going with a trainer, bring the minimum that you can get by with for a couple weeks, as space is limited in trainers trucks. Oh, and don't forget to bring a towel, for showers at the richmond yard, and sheets/blanket/pillow or a sleeping bag and pillow. And toiletries. Don't forget those.

I was told along with a few folks from my school we could choose ne regional or Otr. I'm hoping this isn't one of those infamous tales u hear about recruiters telling unaware recruits. Is it that few people choose that route or few people are allowed to do it due to need in Otr or lack of loads?
