The shipping documents should have the weight and gallon per container.

Only weight. 17 containers, 39,000 pounds. If I guess at 8 pounds a gallon, that works out to about 275 gallons per

Also, as they warm up the tanks get softer, which loosens my straps. Hmmm

I think those totes are "Metric"
The ones I use for sugaring are 1000 liters or 278 gals!!
    The Tidbits we learn........
Anyway if they're all 39K by 17 of equals just under 2300lbs each.
and I have no idea about the tanker endorsement requirements????
I used to run a Honey Wagon though and slosh can be a little B####!!

Key is Gentle!!!! Including with your straps!

    On another Note..

@truckdad on that KW passenger door thing,,, yeah well,,, ohm so..

last week I blew a drive, and it shredded,, annoying but minor, been finding pieces of tire everywhere since then, again annoying but minor...

So about this passenger door thing, few days ago, about 6 am pull outa the yard few miles down the road small tight little town bunch of S turns both ways and on the last one,, A left hander,, Passenger door flys open!!!!

Little Shocked I haven't had that happen in 10 or 12 yrs...

Look down in relief the lunch bucket, my green Stanely insulated with the thermos still under the handle, Fortunately still sitting rite where it should be... Few what a relief look in the mirror and whats that red out in the lawn???

Now very narrow road, no shoulders and lots of traffic, both cars and trucks. Reach over grab the door and GOOOO!!!!

Few miles further the light goes on,,,, MY TRIANGLES!!!
After the Tire episode I threw the box on the passenger floor instead of stowing them where I normally keep them!!!!!!!!! Continued on with the thought I'll just stop at an auto parts store and grab another set,,, Minor right,,, pop over the hill can see my first delivery and halfway between us DOT is doing roadside's.......... WTF

Fortunately in the other direction,,,,,,,,,, So I make the delivery and wonder, so how long are they gonna stay setup today???????? Really only have one way outa here, through the checkpoint,,, Atleast I'm empty now..... And Fortunatly they was backed up when I decided to leave and gotta wave!!!!!!!

And on my way home in my pickup,10 hrs later, there was my triangles still laying in somebody's front lawn...... Box even still closes!!!

    Sometimes we do get lucky!

When taking a load of those totes or any liquid in any size container, if they are full there will be no slosh. If there is no headspace in the container the product cannot move. I've hauled traffic paint in those totes and never had any problems with slosh or sway because they were filled to the top. The only time you will get slosh or even the sensation of slosh is if the container is not filled.

Yup. There's a reason why those need a tanker endorsement now.

119 gallons, actually. Totes hold 300-350.

BTW, the tanker endorsement requirement for totes was added fairly recently, which though some guys in the LTL world for a loop.

I already had it, so I didn't worry about. It's an easy test.

4 of those in a trailer won't have a bit of problem letting you know they're back there.

Can you post a link to the reg, or at least the section in the little green bible, please?

There's 4 inches of air in each one. I'm getting seasick.

I'm going to get a DUI before long. Good thing it's almost dark!!

Belatedly, I'm also thinking I should have put more of the weight on the truck. It might wag the tail less?

    MJ1657 Thanks this.
