    Again, I live in the 3rd most expensive city in the continental US.
    18/ hr ain't crap with COL.
    2 weeks pay after taxes at that just pays the rent.
    Never mind other bills

    What good is a few extra bucks If it costs you your relationship. Take the local gig and enjoy your wife and life.
    Eventually you'll be be able to work your way up to higher pay locally
    By the the way 18 is pretty good for a new driver.

    There's your issue. How bad was the accident what are the "minor" incidents. 2 hours each way... Not much quality of life there....except weekends.

    I agree you need a fridge and micro etc I eat out once a week period.

    @Chinatown should have some thoughts.

    Accident was non preventable, non dot reportable.
    Woman ran a light and hit my trailer.
    Trailer slid in blizzard trying to get out of a mall parking lot doing a front door unload in a blizzard and knocked a stop sign off its post.
    Last one had bilateral ear infection and influenza A, popped a tire and rim.
    Been clean since February.

    It is what it is.

    More than an hr commute each way from the house.
    My last local job was in Hyde park. 27 miles. 1.5 hrs one way on a good day
