I just finished up my classes with MATC in Oak Creek, great opportunity, good curriculum & awesome instructors! I obtained what I consider to be outstanding training & my cdl class a license! I highly recommend them! Now the job hunt is on! Any tips?

Crete offers good pay rate and benefits package. Training they do the right way, safely, not all about team driving at all. Good equipment including trailers and currently they're bringing in many 2017 Freightliners brand new trucks. I've been satisfied with them so far.

What do you want to pull? Flatbed, tanks, vans...?

Don't take time off before getting a job, those skills you learned will degrade without keeping them sharp.

It depends on which direction you want to go. Which trailer?? The most versatile is the reefer. Add a haz-mat endorsement to your license and you will always be rolling. I pulled a reefer for about 20 years. Flatbed is great but can be seasonal. A Dry trailer is a good start off to learn the ropes but has a tendency to pay less and sometimes 'no freight'. Oh, reefer is dry or wet. Some tanker outfits will take you with zero tanker experience but they do want 6+ months OTR. Right now the world is your oyster. I am heading back to tankers with a hope of achieving the $1,500 weekly average that I'm looking for.... Have fun finding the right carrier.

    Good luck!

If you tell us what state you're in one of the gurus might have a few more suggestions of places to apply.
