I recently got out of a kw t680 and was happy with it's performance as far as ride is concerned. It had that junk pac car engine in it and spent more time in shop then on the road. This was over the course of 6 months and my boss finally sold the thing cause of it's cost and loss of revenue. and yes, volvos can be a pain for repair or maint depending on what kind of engine you get in it. Like the twin turbo cat in a kw, alot of places wont even touch a volvo engine, you have to a dealer. But as far as ride, i'm probably bias, but i still like the volvos![]()

Well after 3 years in an 11 yard mixer ( Big truck with square wheels ), getting into a '13 Cascadia, the first week I was ever constantly looking in the mirrors to see if the trailer had become detached. It was like riding on a cloud. After that my '12 Volvo blew the Cascadia away. I will need to think hard on ever getting into another POS Kenworth.
But after 3 years in a mixer everything rides nice. They have a W900 Icon down at the local Inland, and the interior is so cheap, just F cheap, it looks just like the mixer !!!! I was really disappointed. Pete's ride nice too, and have the best interior I think.

It depends on where you run. Rich states have blacktop that is perfect. Other states have bad washboard concrete dating from the 60's like ours. Long obselete.
Trust me, if you have airride you are getting really good. Different trucks have different behavior, some good, some better and some not so good. For me the best trucks is a Pete 379 long nose, FLD 120, KW2000 and a number of really tough Macks that wont break off road when faced with truly dangerous situations that will break all regular road tractors.
Young hard bodies ride well. Obese fat slobs endure pain from the rolls hanging off them in all trucks.Dave_in_AZ and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I love my 379 long hood, flat top. The ride of a Volvo 780 is nice, but the body roll in the turns is something I can do without. Taking turns in the Pete feels rock solid, albeit it's not as tall as a 780, but the bags aren't as tall as well. I just enjoy driving the Pete much more. The cab and sleeper of the Volvo is like a rolling apartment, awesome room I'll admit, but rolling down the road in a 379 is the best!

My Cascadia rides smoother than my Western Star did. And to make sure it was smoother, I put in a Bose Ride seat.
