Landstar questions

Can a current CPM driver of over 7 years OTR who is an efficient runner come to LS and given the limitations of having zero agent contacts still be able to pull roughly $7000 gross per month starting out? I can't afford to be behind the curve so much that I eat it hard trying to get off the ground if I make this change.. Thanks

 

Honestly, I don't know.. All I'm doing is factoring what I make now in addition to expected costs for a truck note and monthly payment for insurance etc.. My base for home expenses runs around $2500, I figure I have enough padding there that the $7000 figure keeps everything stable.. In other words I can can get by on roughly $7000.. I realize I'm in business for myself, but I'm trying to be realistic about what I need minimally in contrast to what I can expect until I get the hang of running at peak performance with LS

 

Can I ask, do you work for Landstar?

 

Ah ok.. Not sure how they run over there, Landstar covers 100% fuel surcharge..

Ah ok.. Yeah man, I'm full blown green on this whole O/O thing.. Trying to make sure I don't fall flat on my face after signing a truck lease and leaving my safe cushy but deadend company job only to find out I'm drowning before I start.. I know a lot of getting your your wheels really turning has to do with making nice and proving myself to agents, but I might have to eat it watching load boards until I can get the hang of this.. So just need to know I can at least make enough to survive till I really get going
