Ah ok yeah, that's factored in to my minimum.. As I say, the fuel surcharge should offset my burden and I've got the truck note and misc insurance etc covered there as well.. Maybe I'm short by a grand for my minimum, but I can't imagine needing more than that getting started.. If course I won't buy a brand new truck.. Can't fly with that monster payment around my neck every month.. So I'll look for a decent used truck to get started

I miss the road some days. Now I'm mentally tired at the end of the day instead of physically tired. I have all I can do to stay awake and not face plant into my dinner plate.

Landstar agents really don't give a #### about you. Deliver the load and that's it. If anything, you get put on an agents NO LOAD list for screwing up. Post your truck as available and you may get a call from an agent with a load that's not on the load boards. It could be some high valued customer. Deliver on time and you could land yourself a dedicated run or calls in the future.

Once you sign on with Landstar you will have access to their load board to see all the freight available. You can also post your truck that says you have a truck available tomorrow in Hubbard, OH or something like that. If an agent is looking for a truck they may call you.

    Yoyoredrum and Rattlehead808 Thank this.

Ah ok.. Yeah, I been lurking around in here seeing how all this works.. I think I can game this system with these agents pretty easily.. Unless we can't butter these people up with a gift card or a box of cupcakes? LOL
