That's false. I'm standing beside ours right now and it hauls equipment up and down the highway all day long. Its registered, insured and inspected and is legal to operate on the highways. Same with the 2 Cat dump trucks I see pass by the shop every hour or so.
What engine with DEF is having the least amount of problems?

CAT ran away from the on-highway markets long ago, they engines they have in trucks now are rebranded navistars that are painted yellow.RERM, spyder7723 and rachi Thank this. -
Giobanks23 Thanks this.

Wow, still lots of misinformation on the Cat truck.
The CT13L engine in the Cat trucks is an International Maxxforce which is a MAN block. They all have EGR and a DPF. The early ones had no SCR, so no urea needed. But the newer ones (when International updated the Maxx to the N13 with SCR) use DEF fluid same as everyone else.
The 15L engine which was offered as an option, then discontinued before the Cat truck itself was discontinued, uses a real Cat C15 block, but all the top end if International.
Ask any Cat or International dealer, they will verify. The whole history of those engines has been published in every trucking trade magazine since they were released. -

True, but I'm old school, LOL. At least I didn't say International Harvester. LOL.

Well I don't know much about the Max force I've read lots of reviews and the company's that bought them have nothing but problems. I'm glad some of you have had OK luck with the isx but I think I'll stay away fro it. What's everyone's opinions on the dd15 or 16 and the paccar?

I'm really puzzled by Cat. Even in their small compact equipment, they are using Kubota engines.
Strange considering they bought Perkins years ago just for that reason...to have a line of small engines.
